For this study, Save the Children in Ethiopia is looking to hire an individual consultant who have the experience and competencies on IYCF, KAP and Nutrition studies/researches on a consultancy base for the following position.   2.    OVERALL OBJECTIVE The main objective of this consultancy is to undertake IYCF-KAP study and document lessons learned for future programing in the four regions of Ethiopia (Amhara, Benshangul Gumz, Afar and Tigray)      3.    SCOPE OF THE WORK Under the guidance of the Lead Investigator, the position holder will be responsible for health, nutrition, WASH and food security related quantitative and qualitative data management, cleaning, statistical analysis, and interpretation, producing and summarizing results in both tabulation and narration of the data that will be collected from Amhara, Benshangul Gumz, Afar and Tigray regions.  He/she will be also responsible to produce a report by merging qualitative and quantitative findings. 4.    DELIVERABLE/OUTPUTS ·         Cleaned raw data of the four regions IYCF-KAP Survey ·         Summarized and tabulated report of the results section ·         Data analysis plan and inception report ·         Draft and Final Reports of the study ·         Data Analysis and Report Write up   5.    DURATION/START AND COMPLETION DATES The study should be conducted from 1-30 January 2018 (30 days in total) including training, desk review, analysis and write-up. 6.    RESPONSIBILITY OF SCI ·         Arrange transportation and all required logistics, equipment and survey tools for this study ·         Organize training sessions ·         Review delivered reports on time and give feedback for incorporation and finalization ·         Settle the payment for the consultant upon submission and acceptance of the report   7.    RESPONSIBILITY OF THE FREELANCER/INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT ·         Responsible for data management, cleaning, statistical analysis, results interpretation, and report write up. ·         Producing appropriate tabulations of results including demy tables/figures ·         Test statistical significances of results from the end line and baseline data ·         Identify determinant factors of the outcome variable of interest ·          Give feedback on the data collection tool and variables from statistical analysis point of view ·         Produce and agree on the data analysis plan before data collection and encoding ·         Closely work with the data entry clerks and give feedback and advise them on data encoding in order the data be coded in a compatible manner with the data entry and analysis software ·         Give feedback and corrections, if need be, to the HH data collectors on the data collection tool both during the training and data collection process. ·         Receive feedback on the analysed data both from UNICEF and SCI staffs and take in to consideration or otherwise give convincing justification on the issues raised ·         Produce draft and final  report of the study from the qualitative and quantitative findings ·         Compare and contrast the findings of this study with the baseline findings ·         Closely work with the other co-investigator/biostatistician and lead investigator ·         Any other activities which demanding his/her input on this study starting from commencement through implementation up to  completion   8.    SUBMISSION DATES (FIRST DRAFT, SECOND DRAFT, FINAL DRAFT) Inception report should be submitted within 5 days after signing the agreement. The organization has offices across the region, and has been operational in Ethiopia since 2009.  With funding from bilateral and multilateral donors, DRC is currently implementing a range of activities across Ethiopia and Djibouti, including WASH and shelter provision, child and youth protection, gender based violence response, awareness-raising of migration risks, protection monitoring of migration routes, and livelihoods support for returning migrants or those at-risk of migration.   PURPOSE OF THE JOB Working under the direct management of the Protection Team Leader, The ECC D officer is responsible in the planning, management, coordination, monitoring an evaluation of the implementation of the Early Childhood Care and Development project in Okugu refugee camp.
