Laboratory Information System (LIS) Advisor – Seconded to FMOH (EPHI) Number of positions: One Duty Station: FMOH (EPHI) Addis Ababa Job Summary: The LIS advisor will provide technical support to the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and Ethiopian public Health Institute (EPHI) on the development, implementation, and maintenance of a LIS to support the HIV program. The LIS mainly used for the UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals, with the third 90 being that 90% of patients on ART should be virally suppressed that aims to strengthen the national capacity to increase HIV/AIDS case detection and treatment. Duties and responsibilities § Provide technical support in the design and development of an electronic laboratory information system for HIV/AIDS testing and treatment services § Ensure the implementation of LIS for HIV/AIDS testing and treatment services at regional laboratories and health facilities § Support development of capacity of the LIS to exchange of information with the electronic medical record system § Organize and provide trainings on HIV/AIDS LIS and HIV/AIDS case based surveillance to managers and health workers at different levels of the health system § Provide onsite technical support to regional laboratories and health facilities on HIV/AIDS LIS and HIV/AIDS case based surveillance § Perform regular analysis and interpretation of laboratory data and develop policy and program briefs to decision makers § Generate and submit monthly progress reports to FMOH/EPHI and ICAP Ethiopia § Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor
