EDC is looking for qualified personnel to fill the following post.Position: Coordinator, Tigray National Regional State EDC Regional Coordination OfficeDuty Station: Mekelle with some travel within the regionNumber required: One (1)Scope of work: Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer of EDC, the incumbent will be responsible for implementation and coordination of the EDP related activities in the assigned region and its catchments and disseminate the relevant information to existing and potential EDP beneficiaries in order to achieve the field-level project outputs. He/she is expected to establish strong coordination and linkages amongst existing and potential EDC clients as well as major stakeholders.Duties and Responsibilities: He/she is expected to carry out the following duties:Management of the regional office:

    Manage the EDC regional office and represent the EDP at the field level
    Manage regional staff

    Coordination and administrative support of the EDC training:

    Assist the EDC Training Manager in identifying required skill/competency training and areas of further capacity development of the project beneficiaries in the assigned areas,
    Assist the EDC Training Manager in identifying and mobilizing participants in the EDC training
    Coordinate and make necessary arrangements to organize the EDC training and support services at the regional level,

    Coordination and provision of the EDC business development services (BDS) at the regional level:

    Assist the EDC BDS Manager in identifying the needs for BDS support and properly assigning business advisors to the beneficiaries
    Coordinate and provide administrative support to provide BDS support to the EDP beneficiaries in the Oromia region
    Provide referral services to the EDP beneficiaries to facilitate their access to locally available business support services and financial services
    Monitor and keep the work records of local business advisors in the assigned region, and report their performance to the EDC BDS Manager

    Network building and facilitation of policy dialogues at the regional level:

    Organize meetings, at least once a quarter, with local authorities, private sector and other stakeholders to gather the relevant information and coordinate field activities. Report the results of the meetings to the CEO of the EDC in Addis Ababa,
    Responsible for the smooth information dissemination among the EDP/EDC, local authorities, stakeholders, and project beneficiaries.
    Work with entrepreneurship centers established in universities
    Progress monitoring and reporting at the regional level:
    Collect and validate the data and information required for the progress monitoring,
    Prepare quarterly regional progress reports (both substantive and financial) and submit them to the EDC
    Any other tasks and activities as required by the CEO of the EDC

    Reporting: The Regional Coordinator will directly report to the CEO of EDC but will work closely with other project personnel, regional offices, regional government and other stakeholders.Required qualifications: Masters’ Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Management, Development Studies or other Social Science fieldsExperience: At least 5 years’ experience in a related post.Project management and financial management experience will be considered an advantage.     Develop key promotional messages in consultation with ECDD staff for use in each social media, as appropriate.
    Compile and archive photos, videos, fact sheets, training materials and other communication documents on the ECDD shared drive platform for easy access by Program team members in a timely manner.
    Prepare various public media materials, including information brochures, and media releases for distribution to various print and radio media.
    Ensure the dissemination of information and communication materials to relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries.
    Arrange for media coverage of various ECDD events, and ECDD participation in various media events.
    Work closely with ECDD Project staff to help identify Project communication needs and how best to meet them, including through the use of regional radio.
    Advise and assist project staff on the preparation of content for radio programs with media focal persons, and keep a record of all broadcasts.
    Assist in the production of human interest stories, interviews, pictures, and videos of ECDD project activities, in collaboration with project focal persons and as requested by donors and partners.
    Prepare at least two good short stories/success stories per year from each project, in collaboration with project staff, f or distribution to donor partners and posting on social media.
    Publicize and arrange for staff participation in various webinars and other online learning and training opportunities offered by ECDD partners and other organizations.
    Suggest additional ways that ECDD can increase public awareness of its work and of disability inclusion in general.
    Assist in maintaining and strengthening the ECDD network with other development NGOs, DPOs, government offices and partners.
    Assist the Ethiopian Business and Disability Network (EBDN) to increase public awareness of EBDN, and publically promote the employment of workers with disabilities.
    Support the organization of the annual EBDN inclusive Employer Awards Program and ensure coverage of the event via print, radio and TV media.
    Represent ECDD in notional forums, platforms and meetings as requested.
    Undertake such other tasks as may be assigned by the ECDD Program Director and/or the ECDD Executive Director.

    Qualifications:

    University degree in field of communications and/or journalism.
    Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience.
    Experience in website management and the use of social media.
    Experience in public communications.
    Graphic design and photo editing skills using layout software.
    Previous experience working with persons with disabilities useful.
    Excellent written English, editing and proof reading skills
    Competent in reading, writing and speaking English and Amharic and/or use of Ethiopian sign language.
    Knowledge of other languages desirable.
    Good team player and willing to work to meet sometimes tight deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
