The Water Development Coordinator position is a significant addition to our small team that currently operates out of offices in Hargeisa. The position will be based in Hargeisa with regular travel within Somaliland and occasional travel to other programme countries in the region. Key duties and responsibilities Reporting directly to The Pharo Foundation’s Representative in Somaliland, s/he will have the following key duties and responsibilities with the objective of improving access to water:Lead the design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the water development components of our integrated sustainable livelihoods programmes in Somaliland.By working closely with the Representative in Somaliland, relevant colleagues in London, and existing and potential partners, generate new and innovative ideas and lead the design of the water development components of new large-scale integrated livelihoods programmes.Assess the capacity of partner implementing agencies, water user groups and community water and sanitation committees and design and implement appropriate capacity building plansMonitor legislations, policies and regulations affecting the water sector, develop comprehensive guidelines, including limitations and opportunities, and ensure programme personnel and relevant stakeholders are fully updated.Plan, design and oversee construction of schemes for storing, transporting and/or distributing water for domestic use, livestock consumption and crop production.Lead the development and implementation of appropriate strategies and initiatives to organise communities into effective water and/or sanitation and hygiene groups in close coordination with other stakeholders.Develop a communal ownership and use strategy for water user groups through a series of meetings with key stakeholders with a focus on sustainable use and management of structures constructed with support from the programmes.Provide overall technical leadership and direction for programme activities aimed at sustainably increasing access to clean water and improved sanitation to national standards.Contribute and participate in the systematic monitoring of programmes to assess progress against objectives, to continuously learn, and to take timely corrective actions, if necessary.Organise learning and experience sharing forums; and commission and/or participate in research that could lead to improved access to water.Under the administrative guidance of the Representative in Somaliland, occasionally contribute to the successful design and implementation of the water development components of integrated livelihoods programmes in the wider region, esp. in areas of your highest expertise.

GIZ Energizing Development Ethiopia is looking for a qualified candidate as per the detail below: Position:                                           Energy Advisor, Bioenergy Place of Work:                       SNNPR Application deadline:           July 3, 2018   Responsibilities The Energy Advisor for bioenergy will support in the day to day activities in the development and promotion of Bioenergy technologies in planning, implementation and monitoring of activities. Within this context, he fulfils the following tasks: Tasks: Professional advising & consulting: §  Facilitates the planning, implementation and monitoring of bioenergy activities as per agreed objectives, outputs, milestones and indicators. §  Assists in coordinating the cook stove technology dissemination in collaboration with the regional partners and stakeholders, and EnDev Ethiopia Bioenergy Section. §  Main tens an overall good flow of communication and information between all involved staff and institutions. §  Documents relevant Bioenergy technology developments, training aids, findings of research and studies for the program/project planning, implementation and knowledge management. §  Contribute at the EnDev Ethiopia planning, monitoring communication and evaluation and knowledge management plans and activities, in collaboration with other teams. §  Assists in implementing program/project interventions in a result-oriented and participatory manner by closely integrating efforts with other teams in EnDev Ethiopia and partners. §  Assists in promoting local production, and marketing of improved bioenergy technologies. §  Assists in conducting RET demand /market analysis and need assessment of end users through marketing mix (i.e. products, producers, price, promotion, partnerships, packaging, placement processes, people) and prepare report. §  Assists, in preparation, implementation and documentation of training, workshops, forums, meetings and other project activities. §  Provides business development services for bioenergy technology producers, promoters and marketers for the private sectors. §  Assists assigned national and international consultants in related fields and as assigned by his/her supervisor. §  Provides support in organizational and management queries. §  Contribute to the design, storing, processing and disseminating of information and knowledge products. §  Collects and possibly establish an inventory of achievement of milestones and deliverables, and its effects on the users. §  Organizes and maintain the project/program documentation and filing system in consultation with PM& C section. §  Is jointly responsible with the partner institution for preparing, implementing and documenting training events, workshops, forums, team meetings and other project activities. Technical processes Within the context of the above-mentioned responsibilities, she/he fulfils the following specific tasks with strategic focus on bioenergy interventions of EnDev Ethiopia; §  Prepares and implements program/project interventions in result-oriented team efforts; §  Promotes local production, marketing and dissemination of improved energy technologies; §  Prepares and conducts training and other capacity building measures for partners involved collaborating with EnDev Ethiopia team; §  Facilitates business development services in bioenergy technologies for producers, promoters and marketers; Assists in planning, coordination, and documentation of meetings, workshops, and other project activities focusing on the market aspects of the technology. §  Follow up branded solar retailers to ensure the supply of quality product and service §  Check and approve the quality of monthly fuel saving stoves sales report.     Management and Coordination: Personal, social, managerial and entrepreneurial skills Diligent, hardworking and showing high level of integrity; Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and produce well under pressure in team spirit;Attention to detail, flexibility and willingness to learn and improve performance;Solution-oriented approach;Ability to harness and help improve the performance capacity of colleagues.
