Further programs enhance the development of a sustainable textile sector and renewable energies. GIZ Energizing Development Ethiopia is looking for a qualified candidate as per the detail below: Position: Energy Advisor, Solar Place of Work: Bahir Dar Application deadline: June 29, 2018 Responsibilities The Energy Advisor for solar will support the programme in planning, implementing and monitoring solar market development as well as solar PV installation activities as per the agreed objectives, outputs, milestones and indicators defined in the programme’s implementation plans. She/He is responsible to establish, capacitate and build region-wide networks of solar technology value chain actors (producers, BDS providers, distributers, market outlets, suppliers, etc.) from both private and the public sectors. Within this context, he fulfils the following tasks: Tasks: Professional advising & consulting: Cooperating with the federal and regional stakeholders, in close coordination with his hierarchy and/or regional offices of the programme; Coordinates market development activities and test equipment for the adoption of overall solar market development strategies;Maintains effective and efficient communication and information exchange between all involved GIZ staff and other institutions.Facilitate the cooperative effort with government partners in the process of selecting and installation of solar PV systems at health centers and health posts in Amhara Technical processes Within the context of the above-mentioned responsibilities, she/he fulfils the following specific tasks with strategic focus on solar energy interventions of EnDev Ethiopia; § Prepares and implements program/project interventions in result-oriented team efforts; § Promotes local production, marketing and dissemination of improved energy technologies; § Prepares and conducts training and other capacity building measures for partners involved collaborating with EnDev Ethiopia team; § Facilitates business development services in solar technologies for producers, promoters and marketers; Assists in planning, coordination, and documentation of meetings, workshops, and other project activities focusing on the market aspects of the technology. § Assist the process of selection of health centres and health posts for the installation of solar PV systems. § Assist the establishment of regional solar energy association § Assist the establishment of regional solar technical committee § Follow up branded solar retailers to ensure the supply of quality product and service § Check and approve the quality of monthly solar sales report Management and Coordination: Personal, social, managerial and entrepreneurial skills Diligent, hardworking and showing high level of integrity; Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and produce well under pressure in team spirit;Attention to detail, flexibility and willingness to learn and improve performance;Solution-oriented approach;Ability to harness and help improve the performance capacity of colleagues.
