Program for Appropriate Technologies in Health (PATH)
PATH is an international organization that drives transformative innovation to save lives and improve health, especially among women and children. PATH seeks to recruit a short term Child Health Technical Advisor for the project titled ‘Optimizing the Health Extension Program implementation (OHEP)’. The incumbent holder will serve as a member of the central project team, providing technical support to the project and the MNCH portfolio of the country office. The key responsibilities will include: Project specific Technical Assistance: Plan and deliver direct support to OHEP and other MNCH focused project initiatives on a range of technical and program implementation issues. Collaborate with OHEP project staffs to provide targeted technical support to the project implementation site; particularly with consolidating project activities, project handover, designing proper exist strategy at Woreda level and fostering proper documentation. Work closely with the OHEP project team and lead and finalize documentation and publication of project learnings, best practice documentation, production of interim and final reports, and related documents.Provide technical assistance to Federal Ministry of Health and Regional Health bureau and OHEP staff located at central and regional level in promoting system level interventions that improve child health.Provide technical assistance to working groups at government level, liaise and coordinate with stakeholders for common project goals and improvement of project outcomes.Conduct technical and programmatic assessments and develop both individual and cross-cutting portfolio technical assistance plans in coordination with the OHEP team and Country Director. Strategic level interventions: Work with program officers, technical advisors and other staff to conceptualize and design proposals for new project activities and/or amendments to current projectsIdentify and facilitate the design of proposals to expand the quality and scope of MNCH programmingCoordinate and help produce proposals as assigned, ensuring that proposals meet funder specifications and deadlines as well as PATH’s quality standardsInvolve in research for and draft proposal sections as necessarySupport the conceptualizing and designing of cost effective, innovative and high quality programsAttend and represent PATH at relevant external briefings and meetings.Duration of Employment: 5 monthsPosition Type: Short term
