WHO YOU'LL WORK WITHAs the Senior Technical Advisor, you will be based in Addis Ababa and will work closely with the program team leads. You'll build rapport with key staff in the Federal Ministry of Health and directorates to provide support and reinforce accountability for specific initiatives and targets.This role is supported under the Department for International Development (DFID)-funded Sustaining and Accelerating Primary Health in Ethiopia Technical Assistance (SAPHE TA) Programme. SAPHE is a five-year Department for International Development (DFID) programme, launched in 2015 to support Ethiopia’s Health Sector Transformation Plan.WHAT YOU'LL DOYou will support the Ministry of Health (MOH) in COVID-19 pandemic response and continuity of essential health services.Under the supervision of the SAPHE TA Team Leader and relevant team leader, you will work as a DFID/SAPHE project team member. You will help problem-solve on strategy and overall stakeholder coordination to ensure that COVID-19 transmission is reduced and its social and economic impacts are mitigated. You will motivate other colleagues involved in the project by being a role-model in building positive working culture towards common goal.You will help improve the coordination between the Ministry of Health and EPHI and the overall response by supporting the federal COVID-19 response (MOH and Ethiopian Public Health Institute) with the regional and sub-regional responses. You'll support the streamlining of the pandemic response with relevant stakeholders within the health sector and other sectors to accelerate recovery efforts. You will also support the Ministry of Health on long-range health sector goals and targets through building resilient health system, coordinating pandemic response with essential health services, ensuring better alignment of the pandemic response with safeguarding and maintaining these essential health services (e.g., addressing the issues of PPEs).
