Tourism Ethiopia is a government organization tasked with the development of Ethiopia’s tourist destinations, market and promotes destinations at national and international level through employing competitive marketing and promotional strategies to open new tourism opportunities, generate jobs and revenue for Ethiopia. Tourism Ethiopia has crafted MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events and Exhibitions) Tourism Strategy, with the support of the World Bank Group /International Financial Corporation (WB / IFC), to support Ethiopia’s MICE sector. The strategy document signifies Ethiopia as a convenient and appealing destination for organizing international meetings, conferences and events. In this regard, to lead the sector in an integrated manner, National Tourism Convention Bureau has been established. To support this first National Tourism Convention Bureau, Tourism Ethiopia is collaborating and working with international team of consultants and advisors, to learn and develop Ethiopia’s MICE sector. Therefore, as part of the National Tourism Convention Bureau formation. Tourism Ethiopia would like to invite qualified applicants to apply for MICE Tourism Research Expert III vacant position.Description of duties and responsibilitiesImplement effective MICE marketing programs in collaboration with travel partners, event organizers, Venues, and other industry stakeholdersUnderstand MICE industry trends and work in collaboration with the sales and business development teamCreate strong MICE industry relationships with key local and international stakeholdersIdentifying source markets, media, audience and content for MICE advertisement and advertorial activities;Working with international and local outsourced marketing/advertisement agencies to successfully implement marketing and promotional program;Leads and participates on international trade fairs, travel trades, exhibitions, forums, etc. to promote the country’s MICE products and penetrate to the market;Prepares, Evaluates and implements contents on websites, social media, blogs, magazines, brochures, forums, etc.
