The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to improve food and nutritional security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centers dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world. Co-hosted by Kenya and Ethiopia, it has regional or country offices in East, South and Southern Asia as well as Central, East, Southern and West Africa. www.ilri.orgImpact at Scale Program (I@S) was established to ensure ILRI has the requisite human and management capacity to facilitate partnerships with other organizations to deliver at scale; provide appropriate incentives for staff undertaking such activities; and ensure the institute can demonstrate the impact of livestock research for development. ILRI wants to develop a systematic approach to evaluate the potential scalability of its research products and has designed an iterate process for scaling strategy development based on the literature review of existing scaling tools and methodologies.ILRI seeks to recruit a Graduate Fellow, Science of Scaling based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia with visa sponsorship possible for international applicants. This fellowship will focus on the ‘science of scaling’, working with the Program Leader and other ILRI and CGIAR research program colleagues to
Organize scaling assessment workshops, including preparing workshop materials and facilitation as the coordinator
Conduct both quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and presentation of the results
Act as a focal point for specific projects assessing scaling-readiness of innovations piloted by ILRI and partners.
Required Qualifications:Education
Enrolled in a graduate program (including masters and PhDs) in an accredited university preferably in Economics, International Development, public/business administration, social sciences, technology or related field
Experience
Demonstrated experience in event management and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in organizing and facilitating workshops/training
Experience working with international organization and projects in developing countries is preferable
Skills
Independent thinking is essential - We want someone that can look at a problem from a variety of angles and be prepared to challenge assumptions and bring new perspectives
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Interpersonal skills and to work in a team-oriented multi-cultural environment
Demonstrated ability to multi-task as needed, meet deadlines and manage time well
Other

Highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude
Language
Written and spoken fluency in English is mandatory
Location: Addis Ababa, EthiopiaDuration: 10-12 months (with the possibility of extension)Terms of appointment and stipend:This is an appointment for 10-12 months (with the possibility of extension, or conversely, for the right candidate we may consider a shorter assignment).
