Brewery IT Help Desk
Desktop support of all GF Brewery computers (100+) and users e.g. Application Support, Network Support, Email Support etc. Maintenance and support of all GF brewery office computers, printers, UPS, and software. Install, configure, monitor and maintain GF brewery local area network (LAN).
1.1. Desktop support for GF Brewery computer users
Ensure PCs and laptops for GF Brewery users are up and running
Ensure necessary applications required by users are installed and working as expected e.g. MS Office, MS Project etc.
Ensure printers for users are configured and working as required i.e. both local and network printers
Responsible for setup and deployment of new PCs/Notebooks to GF Brewery users
Ensure that all PCs are protected from virus attack by installing the latest Anti-Virus program
Troubleshoot and resolve end-user hardware, operating system, and software related problems, from the Help Desk, where possible
Troubleshoot and resolve basic network and server access problems for end users, from the Help Desk, where possible
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with LAN, systems, from the Help Desk where possible.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with voice communications (Fixed telephone, PBX or IP telephone system)
Forward technical support issues that cannot be addressed by the Help Desk, to the appropriate regional or central support team.
1.2. Hardware support/maintenance
Raise request for ICT consumables e.g. printer cartridges, flash drives etc, to meet GF Brewery user requests. Ensure that these consumables are of the right specification and quality
Ensure new hardware procured by Logistics department for the ICT department is of the right standard, quality and specification
1.3. Manage/Administer System and Network
Ensure all GF Brewery IT hardware e.g. servers, printers, UPS, projectors etc. are working and in good condition
Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs
Liaise with vendors and company personnel in order to facilitate purchases
Responsible for analysis and upgrade of network active/passive devices in line with technology development to ensure optimum speed of the network
Participate in the administration of Active Directory, SCCM
Ensure company IT hardware inventory is updated
· Ensure user employees are equipped with the right hardware for optimum throughput
1.4. Ensure System and Network Security
Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware of the Central Office and Addis Ababa Branch.
Protect computer assets by developing security strategies; directing system control development and access management, monitoring, control, and evaluation.
Develop security awareness by developing orientation and training programs, and counseling clients.
1.5. Manage the Brewery telecommunications infrastructure
Responsible for the management of the GF Brewery telecommunications network.
Ensure GF Brewery PBX/IPT system is available and operational at all times.
Deliver / present system concept to management.
Ensure call access rights are properly managed to prevent unauthorized use of company’s telephone facilities.
1.6. Organize and provide users trainings
Elaborate user manuals.
Examine training needs
Provide users training when necessary.
Assist / advise other departments to have the best usage of the companies’ Information system
Job Requirements
Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Software Engineering/ Information Technology/ Information Systems Degree
MCITP/MCSE and CCNA certificates will be an added advantage
3 years’ experience in a similar role
