HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office would like to invite interested applicants for the following contract postTitle of the Job: AccountantRequired number: 1Position overview:She/he will work under the Finance Directorate.Main duties and responsibilities
Process timely transfers of approved funds to Sub recipients and other implementing agenciesPrepare payment vouchers based on the approved budget and payment requestMaintain proper records of disbursements and budget utilizationPrepare disbursement reports and budget Vs disbursement reportsMake a thorough follow-up of unsettled advancesMaintain VAT payment registers, prepare request for reimbursement and follow-up for cash collectionJournalize and record transactions and compile financial reports promptly and accuratelyProcesses accounting data through computer and maintain vouchers, journals and ledgers.Verify bank balances and prepare reconciliations.Verify expenditure reports and make reconciliation with implementing AgenciesPrepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly status reports for the Management and concerned bodies.Prepare quarterly and semiannual reports required by Donors.Provide any necessary technical assistance and supportive supervision to implementers in order to ensure effective financial control and management.Handling record keeping of Fixed assets and consumables promptly and accuratelyPerform any other duties required for the effective function of the Multi-Sectoral HIV/AIDS Response.
Qualification, Educational Background and Experience
University degree in Accounting or Finance10 years progressive work experience in accounting and financial managementGood understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, internal controls, and financial reporting.Experience in working in a project environment for at least for 3 years.Experience in financial management related to Grant FundsWorking knowledge of Fund Accounting and Foreign currency transactions.Working Knowledge of Grant Fund Audit and Accounting GuidelinesExperience in preparing Interim Financial ReportsGood working knowledge and experience of computerized accounting system.
