Main Purpose Perform counseling and/or education sessions to patients, following different medical and mental health MSF protocols and procedures, in order to improve their psychosocial condition. Accountabilities • Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic and administrative needs for patients • Actively promote the availability of counselling services and carry out, individual or in group counseling, basic psycho educational sessions, to patients, their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope. • Refer patients to other specialists or other institutions for further assistance, when necessary in order to propose the best support available. • Participate in the creation of any material needed for counseling activities and look after it, • Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with other counselors, preserving confidentiality • Inform line manager of any problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities. • Take active part in trainings, supervisions/intervisions and support the activities manager when necessary in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues. • Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with supervisor MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities Conduct individual and group counseling to identify the psychological, emotional and behavioral difficulties; diagnose; develop action plan and provide psychological and psychosocial support at individual, group and family level. Ensure the psychological and psycho-social follow-up of the beneficiaries;Supervise, monitor and provide training to the community mental health workers in the center and in the field. Make initial home visits to assess living conditions, family situation and social background of the clientConduct group discussions with family members, community members and neighbors in the field or in the center. Keep regular reports on activities, assessments, follow-up and other related documents to ensure the quality and reporting of the project. Work in close collaboration with PCC, OPD, IPD and other stakeholders. Receive supervision from Mental Health Supervisor or Mental Health Activity Manager for difficult cases. Refer beneficiaries with specific needs of specialized psychological support to PCC or other stakeholders. Ensure confidentiality relating to the project and the beneficiaries. And any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor/MHAM relating to mental health programs.. General The responsibilities mentioned above are not exhaustive and other work can be required according to the needs of the mission. Mobility is requested from MSF staff, including short term assignments from their usual place of work. Part of any MSF-employee responsibilities is the attendance of trainings as per the requirements of the organisation.The job description can be modified according to the evolution of the work. - Medical Coverage: 100% - Hardship allowance: 25% Relocation allowance(If Applicable): 4,000.00 ETB
