VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT No. 16/2018Lutheran World Federation (LWF/WS – Ethiopia) is a registered foreign charity which has been operating in Ethiopia since 1973 implementing various development and humanitarian projects in different parts of Ethiopia. LWF is currently looking for professional fulfilling the criteria below.Detailed responsibilities and tasks:The Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of LWF Emergency Response and Development Programs focused on addressing the water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) needs of target populations.Key Responsibilities:Lay, connect and fix pipes and fittings on water pressure line,Lay, connect and fix distribution pipe networks,Conduct pipe line maintenance at the time of breakage,  leakage and burst of the water supply system,Connect fittings and pipes to reservoirs, submersible & surface pumps, to residence house, and tankers of institutionsInstall hand pumps to the shallow wells and boreholeFollow up water treatment at reservoirs and monitor the quality of water in the distribution system.Timely operate all control points according to pre-set water schedule to ensure fair distribution of drinking waterMonitor water distribution at water points and take appropriate measures to fix the problems around water pointsReport all pipe lying, connecting, fixing and water distribution, water quality and chlorination to the line managerMonitor and check potential source of water contamination and undertake appropriate measure to protect the beneficiariesInstall/replace water meters on pipe lines and record readings for reportingCarry out maintenance of water points and replacement of faucets;Provide GPS reading of all control valves, water points, wells, and reservoirs whenever neededContribute to establishment of new water points, reservoirs, and water sourcesReport to: Elecro-Mechanical EngineerDuty Station: Awbarre/Shedder Somali Refugee Assistance Project, Awbarre/Shedder, Somali Regional State Employment Term: Until 31 December 2018 with possibility of extension
