Job Description: PATH is an international organization that drives transformative innovation to save lives and improve health, especially among women and children. We accelerate innovation across five platforms—vaccines, drugs, diagnostics, devices, and system and service innovations—that harness our entrepreneurial insight, scientific and public health expertise, and passion for health equity. Together, we deliver measurable results that disrupt the cycle of poor health.  The primary goal of project is to support strengthened national routine immunization program through advocacy and communication, increased demand for vaccines, improved vaccination coverage, optimized vaccine impact, support new vaccine introduction, support data management, support supply chain management and improved equity of access to immunization services to reduce illnesses and deaths from vaccine-preventable diseases. PATH seeks to recruit an Immunization SBCC Advisor for the vaccine project to be carried out in Afar, Somali and also at Federal level with Ministry of Health. The Immunization SBCC Advisor will work as part of the GAVI TCA Team, and will provide technical advice in the design, monitoring and evaluation of Immunization SBC activities, provide technical assistance to national and sub-national immunization program through collaborating with immunization communication working groups. TCA is funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance. The Advisor will work under the guidance and supervision of Gavi TCA responsible program manager and will be based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.  Specific duties and responsibilities: National and sub-national SBCC Support Provide technical advice on immunization-related SBCC for GAVI TCA related activities and build capacity of staffs and partners to roll-out the agreed interventions.Regularly provide technical advice to EPI in the implementation and evaluation of SBCC activities through participating on national immunization communication working group and deliver given assignments.Lead the design, development and production of effective immunization related communication tools and media messages and facilitating the distribution and broadcasting of communication materials and media messages.Provide technical advice and support to EPI, facilitating cross-regional learning related to immunization social and behavior change communication programming.Participate in developing protocol for KAP surveys, coordinate the implementation and promoting innovation in behavioral interventions and communication based on the results.In collaboration with M&E advisor, analyze and synthesize lessons and results to improve the overall approach for behavior and social norms changes.Support regional health bureaus in developing and evaluating EPI program related SBCC initiatives and build regional capacities.Collaborate with strategic communications experts especially within the EPI at federal and regional level.Collaborate in the monitoring of SBC activity performance as requested, including field-based visits to regions.Contribute in drafting the quarterly reports and communication materials like blogs due to GAVI.Lead the preparation of SIAs communication materials and support SIAs implementation.Work with the Strategic immunization and other Communications platforms within PATH.Lead the preparation of technical communication materials related to immunization.  Demand Generation through engaging social mobilization committees: Assist the regional team in conducting advocacy workshop (on the importance of immunization and communication strategies in immunization) for the leaders in the newer districts, including the Regional social mobilization committees and prepare reports.Facilitate and participate in some of the activities conducted by social mobilization committees’ members in the field (market places, mosques, schools, wedding ceremonies, women forum, party forum …) and prepare reports.Assist the regional team in facilitating orientation workshops to the newer sites social mobilization committee members and prepare reports.Assist the regional team (Afar and Somali) in planning, implementation and monitoring of the initiative activities.Do contextual analysis of the newer districts at both regions (Afar and Somali) and prepare reports.Assist the regional teams in facilitating quarterly review meetings to the project sites and prepare detailed reports.Lead baseline assessment visits to the newer sites and prepare assessment reports.Support the monitoring of social mobilization committee activities in both regions.
