Organization OverviewDigital Green is a global development organization that empowers smallholder farmers to lift themselves out of poverty by harnessing the collective power of technology and grassroots-level partnerships. We join forces with governments, private agencies and, most importantly, rural communities themselves to co-create digital solutions that are of the community and for the community. When farmers have the tools they need to connect with one another, they’re far more likely to apply what they’ve learned on their farms and in their households–improving their own livelihoods and those of others in their community, in a manner that’s nutrition-sensitive, climate-resilient, and inclusive.So far, Digital Green has reached 1.5 million rural community members across over 8,000 villages in India, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Ghana, Niger and Tanzania. This is an exciting opportunity to join Digital Green’s new and growing team, supporting our ongoing programs, country expansion and start-up operations. Job Summary:Reporting to DGE’s Program Implementation Head, the position is responsible for the management and coordination of all program operations and DGE staff in the region. The role includes, leading and executing project plans at identified project locations in close collaboration with and through DGE’s government and non-government Partners in the region, as well as representing DGE interests among regional government and non-government stakeholders. This role is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient execution of DGE programs and achievement of set project goals and objectives in the region.Key Responsibilities and Duties:Strategy and Work plan:On the basis of DGE’s program commitments, lead and coordinate operational planning and programing activities of the organization in the region.Oversee implementation of work plans in the regional state and ensure that DGE provides strong technical support to its Partners.Ensure proper alignment of project implementation strategy and work plans with DGE’s country program priorities and implementation strategies.Design and operationalize a framework for regional, zonal, and Woreda level meetings with the goal of increased quality and institutionalization of Digital Green’s approach. Partnership:Perform partner identification and ensure there is a strong partnership strategy in place at Woreda, Zonal and Regional levels.Clarify roles, responsibilities, and reporting requirements, with DGE implementing partners, at the Regional level.Ensure that both the regional DGE team and Partner teams are delivering on expectations, timelines and quality standards as per the partnership strategy at the regional, zonal, and Woreda level.Lead and support regional program management and Technical Advisory Community (TAC) meetings.Nurture and strengthen partnership with area specific NGOs and government partners.Participate in Regional-level government and non-government partner meetings and workshops to present Digital Green's work, case studies, and best practices.Work with partners to identify opportunities to mobilizing own resources for scaling up and institutionalizing Digital Green's approaches and processes.Capacity Building in Partners and Local Communities:Identify specific capacity-building and training needs in the region that can be addressed by Digital Green's programs.Responsible for customizing all capacity building materials to regional context in collaboration with the training team in Addis.On the basis of DGE’s training and capacity development strategy and work plan, ensure that training on video production, dissemination, and data management is organized and executed adequately to all implementing partners in the region. Ensure ICT focus in innovative capacity building interventionsQuality Assurance in Video Creation and Dissemination:Oversee quality assurance for video content, technical quality and dissemination process in the region. Share participant’s feedback with Partners to improve video qualityOversee that DGE team provides supportive supervision to ensure that partner and local teams produce and disseminate videos at Woreda and village levels using DG approaches.Reporting, Data Management, and Documentation:Using Digital Green’s project management system, monitor and review activities and report to the program team at the country office on activities, milestones and accomplishments on time and to the required quality standard.Ensure Partners complete necessary documentation and timely enter data acquired at regional level.Oversee documentation of case studies, best practices, and success stories at regional level and review for wider sharing and learning. Support regional team members in documentation and timely data management in the region.Develop framework for Regional level performance review meetings in collaboration with the regional extension process owners' leadership.Provide regular and timely updates and reports to the respective regional partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment against plan and comply with agreed up on terms and conditions.Supporting Impact Assessment:Ensure the implementation of the various evaluation methods determined by the DGE M&E team to measure impact of DGE programs at Woreda level.Use data and feedback to inform strategic, programmatic changes in Digital Green's approach.External Communications and Support to Fundraising:Suggest and validate case studies and data to be used for regional resource mobilization, grant proposal, conferences and workshops.Participate in inter-regional and national level conferences and workshops to present Digital Green’s work, case studies and bring in best practices from other organizations.Special Projects and Liaison:Provide support for special projects with other Partners, donors, and non-profit organizations.Consolidate and share aggregate reports about regional accomplishment in collaboration with the HQ teams of Digital Green (M&E, Training, Technology etc.) and the Partner organizations.Validate collated information about the regional programs and analyze various practices and trends observed.Identify opportunities and potentials within the region to expand Digital Green's impact.Team Management:Create an enabling and productive work environment for team members to perform at their optimum best.Act as a hiring Manager for staff recruitment in the region.Oversee the performance review of regional team members.Approve travel plan (vehicle, air travel) of the regional team.Verify team travel expenses for accuracy.Provide guidance and coaching to all regional staff in developing work plans, execution and monitoring progress in line with the regional strategy.Set budget and ensure that the regional team is tracking to the budget.Have career development discussions to assess employees' progress toward their development goals.To be successful as a member of the Digital Green team, you will also:Have a passion for our mission and a strong desire to impact an up-and-coming non-profit organization.Be an innovative and creative thinker – you are not afraid to try something new and inspire others to do so.Have a very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.Have a strong work ethic, take initiative, and require minimal direction.Work well independently as well as part of a team.Thrive in a fast-paced and fun environment.Benefits and Perks:Digital Green is a great place to work and prides itself on a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
