Action For Development (AFD), an Ethiopian Residents Charity that implements a program of integrated dry lands development in various parts of Ethiopia, invites interested applicants as per the following:1. Position: Project Officer - Livelihood & Resilience BuildingJob summary: In his/her area of assignment, the incumbent will be engaged in the implementation and coordination of drought recovery project the organization implements in South Omo zone. He/she will work towards building drought resilient livelihoods in pastoral and agropastoral areas through promotion of drought tolerant crop, food security, and animal health interventions.Qualification: BSc/MSc. in plant science or agricultural sciences Rural Development, Environment, or related fieldsExperience: A minimum of 2 years MSC & 4 Years BSC in livelihoods & resilience building, climate change adaptation/mitigation initiatives, cooperative promotion, business development, involving peripheral grassroots communities.Quantity: One2. Position: AccountantJob summary: The Accountant is responsible for the filing of financial documents, preparation of payment vouchers, stamps paid mark on all invoices and issues checks to customers and vendors, registers all checks sequentially on cash register book.The accountant is responsible to manage the day-to-day activities of financial routines, coding, posting, analyzing, and summarizing financial data and preparation of accurate financial reports, and monthly bank/petty/coupon reconciliation of the Field Coordination Office accounts. She/he compiles, prepares and analyses budget, financial reports; ensures compliance with AFD’s and other relevant policies and procedures, monitors/verifies the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.Qualification: BA/Diploma in Accounting or related fields.Experience: 4/6 years , NGO or project financial management experience is advantageous with good skills in the use of computers and computerized accounting software.Quantity: OneFor all positions: Attitude & attributes: Proficiency in verbal & written English, Proficiency in standard application software’s, Interpersonal skills, Analytical skills, Stress tolerance, Integrity & Accountability, Firm belief in team work, gender equity & sensitivity to HIV/AIDS, Experience in NGO environment is advantageous and Familiarity with the local culture, language & context is advantageousDuty station: South Omo, SNNPRSalary: As per the organization’s scaleTerms of employment: Nine months contract (with the possibility of renewal)
