Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD)
BACKGROUND Ethiopian Center for Disability and Development (ECDD) is an Ethiopian Development Organization established in 2005 and reregistered at Agency for Civil Society Organizations as Ethiopian Development Civil Society Organization with Certificate № 0321 under the Proclamation № 1113/2019. ECDD is working with other organizations to promote and facilitate the inclusion of persons with disabilities and disability issues in mainstream service delivery and development programs envisioning an Inclusive Ethiopia where persons with disabilities exercise the same rights and have access to the same services and opportunities enjoyed by other citizens. ECDD is implementing “MINCH IVR telephone platform designed to easily access and sharing of disability-related information among persons with disabilities, their families, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other responsible stakeholders. Users access the platform by giving a call to the toll-free number 6768 without requiring internet or smart phone. The platform is free to the user and helps in bridging information and knowledge gap facing persons with and without disabilities and other responsible stakeholders. Under this ECDD has planned to recruit Project officer (Afan Oromo language program) Job Description Major Responsibilities · Listen to user-submitted voices in Oromiffa language, translate and write in English, and fill out the necessary fields in the moderation interface. · Review and filter users’ questions based on relevance and collect the answers. · Record, edit, and upload the answers in an audio prompt message on the platform. · Write and prepare updated disability-related content per week and upload it on the platform. · Work on the moderation interface to publish, archive, and reject user-generated voices in real time. · Publish finished works on the Platform · Prepare and facilitate public campaigns and promotional events · Have an interest in writing content related to stories, business and life skills, and technology, and possess analytical and excellent communication skills. · Research potential stories, evaluating leads tips to develop story ideas. · Maintain contact with sources and organizations for updates on events, issues, and news. · And other tasks that may be assigned by the Project Coordinator
