The Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) would like to hire a research assistant on contract basis. She/he will involve in various research activities.Main duties and responsibilities
Assist the project leaders and data base programmer in managing the field work and data analysisEnsure that the research protocol, sampling and experimental design is strictly followed by the survey team.Prepare literature review and synthesisDevelop and implement appropriate monitoring and evaluation methodologies for various data collection, management and related processes, clean, analyze and prepare survey reportsDeal with issues related to contract preparation, signing and follow-up of progress of work and completion as well as reporting.Prepare plans, activity reports and related mailersOrganize workshops, meetings and seminars that bring together researchers and policy makersAn excellent command of STATACarry out other assignments as required.
Required qualifications
Master’s Degree in statistics, computer science, economics or related fields.At least one-year relevant experience
Preferred qualifications
Program the survey instruments for electronic data collection using appropriate CAPI software (Example CSPro, ODK, Survey CTO, Survey Solution).Excellent personal communication and report-writing skills
Terms of employment: The initial contract wil be for 12 months beginning on July 1, 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter. The contract is potentially renewable depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funding. The Research Assistant is supposed to work full time for the duration of the service agreement. The contract is project based and renewable depending on the performance of the research associate/assistant.Remuneration: Salary is competitive and attractive.
