Junior Legal Affairs OD Assistant Internal Vacancy Announcement 100/2018 GIZ- Biodiversity and Forestry Program As an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations, the federally owned Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the German Government in achieving its development-policy objectives. GIZ promotes complex reforms and change processes. In Ethiopia, GIZ has been working for more than 40 years in bilateral cooperation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and on the commission of the Ethiopian government and international donors. GIZ Ethiopia is looking to recruit a Junior Expert for the advise of national partners, situated in EWCA for the Biodiversity and Forest programme as specified below. Position: Junior Legal Affairs OD Assistant Place of Work: Addis Ababa Remuneration: as per the GIZ scale Application deadline: 13 June 2018 Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for Updating on Judicial affairs in Nature protection, Forestry and related domainSupport to all project sites in matters of legislation and by lawsSupport the institutional development at EWCAKeep BFP updated on legislation in other countries Tasks Updating on Judicial affairs in Nature protection, Forestry etc. To collect laws and by laws of the country related to the BFP topicsTo be updated on parliamentary and cabinet discussions relating to judicial affairs in the green sectorTo make all kind of analysis between hierarchical laws and document BFP and the partners with these inputsTo be knowledgable at any time on laws, by laws, rules and regulations in the green sector Support to all project sites in matters of legislation and by laws To work in close cooperation with all site staff of BFPTo support all kind of studies and baselines on judicial affairs on demandTo support and organise all kind of events concerning judicial affairs in the sectorTo keep in touch with legislative bodies on all levels in the green sector Support the institutional development at EWCA To get well informed on the institutional development of EWCATo support the missions in institutional developmentTo be aware of all kind of judicial impacts regarding institutional development at EWCA Keep BFP updated on legislation in other countries To get knowledegable on valuable legislation in other countries concerning the green sectorTo link the knowledge abroad with the knowledge in the countryTo make analysis on problem solutions in other places, which could support Ethiopia and the stakeholders in the green sector Other Duties/Additional Tasks To consult continuously with the Programme Management regarding all affairs in legislation in the green sectorTo get permanently familiar with GIZ-specific approaches in legislation and advise to legislation in the green sectorTo be familiar with other programmes and their activities in legal affairsTo carry out tasks relevant to the programme on request.
