JOB SUMMARY The Logistics Officer is responsible for implementing logistics activities to facilitate all Medical Teams operations in Afar Region EthiopiaJOB RESPONSIBITIESPlan and support supply chain activities including planning, sourcing, transport, shipping, warehousing, asset management; apply distribution control techniques to optimize stock levelsImplement procurement process in accordance with MTI and donor policies and procedures, in a transparent, accountable, efficient, timely and cost-effective manner, negotiating prices and proposing new suppliers to be validatedProcess procurements through the Unit 4 ERP systemProvide training to staff in the use of Unit 4 ERP system and ensure updated records are in the system and paper files with correct supporting documentationImplement procurement process, including submitting and collecting quotations, in accordance with MTI and donor policiesTrack vendor contracts and work closely with user departments to ensure effective and efficient implementation; support timely vendor payment by submitting all required documentation in accordance with schedulesAssist in annual procurement planningTrack all organization equipment and assets in accordance with MTI and donor requirementsConduct occasional monitoring of inventory and assets to verify condition and proper use of propertyEnsure proper branding on all items in accordance with MTI and donor requirementsAssist in planning of office management needs including purchasing of office suppliesConduct local market surveys to gain a full knowledge of the availability and price of local itemsCollaborate with IT Officer to meet technology needs of organizationEnsure compliance with MTI and donor procurement policies including submitting procurement plans on time, implementing processes correctly, managing vendors and contracts, maintaining proper records and submitting reports according to scheduleSupport safety and security tasks as delegatedDevelop and maintain a database of suppliers of goods and servicesSup port safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.
