Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) works together for just world with people and organizations across the world in more than 20 countries to eradicate poverty and injustice. We provide emergency assistance in disasters and work for long-term development in local communities. NCA is also member of the ACT Alliance, one of the world's largest humanitarian alliances. The Alliance consists of organizations in over 140 countries across religious faiths. In Ethiopia, NCA established its country office in 1974. Program areas for 2016-2020 include: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Reproductive Health (RH), Climate Resilience (CR) and Humanitarian Aid. The Human Resource Coordinator works closely with the Senior Management Team and head office HR teams. He/she will be responsible in maintaining and enhancing the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. The Human Resources Coordinator originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.ResponsibilitiesMaintains and support the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; advise managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programsFacilitating planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by advising managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisorsPerform orientations, onboarding and update records with new hires including preparation of job contractsMaintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to managementEnsures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource by the government; maintaining records; Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures asper the Global National Staff Handbook of NCAMaintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records on Companies HR database softwareMaintains human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job resultsContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededMaintain employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health and be part of a security focal groupDevelopment of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance.The person to be employed must be loyal to Norwegian Church Aid's values and accept the Code of Conduct of ACT AllianceStrong ability in using MS Office, Excel and HR database and related software’sSupport other functions as assignedArea of Specialization/Focus: Human Resource Management Reporting to: Administration & Finance Head Length of Contract: One year (with possibility of extension)
