Relief and Development for Vulnerable- RDV
Relief and Development for Vulnerable (RDV) is a non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political and non-religious Civil Society Organization (CSO), initiated by multidisciplinary pastoral background youth, committed to contribute to living condition of marginalized, vulnerable and fragile part of pastoral community. RDV is registered under the Ethiopian civil society charity organization number 11/10/2016. RDV mission is to ensure that pastoral communities have sustainable livelihood, access to basic services, healthy and prosperous pastoral and agro pastoral societies in Somali region through provision of basic service, income generation and social empowerment, for all vulnerable groups (particularly women, children and disabled) living in the Somali Region of Ethiopia. Somali region is highly vulnerable to climatic shocks and is one of the most drought-prone regions of Ethiopia, and the severe drought that began in late 2020 has continued into 2023 with the passing of five poor to failed rainy seasons. As per the recent Food Security Monitoring System (FSMS) assessment, an estimated 2.2 million people are targeted for humanitarian response in drought-affected areas (composed of severely food insecure and moderately food insecure people depending on food assistance as the main food source. RDV has received funding from World Food Program and will implement a project named Provision of life-saving general food and cash assistance to food insecure population and internally displaced persons in the Somali region to meet their basic food needs in cluster two target woredas namely East-Emay, Dhanan, Adadle, Abakorow, Gode, Kalafo, Mustahil, Fefer, Berano, Elele, Elwayne, Horashagah, Elkari, Hargelle, West-emay, Raaso, Gorabaqasa, Guradhamole, Lagahida and Salahad. Purpose of the role: - Ensure the provision of an effective and appropriate ICT service designed to meet the needs of the RDV. Maintain and develop the ICT infrastructure to ensure best value and to support fit for purpose systems and solutions. Maintain local and wide area networks and support remote working. Roles and responsibilities ü Manage the configuration, installation and deployment of RDV covering mobile devices, computers, printers and photocopies ü Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners ü Ensure that the equipment under his/her responsibility is in good working condition, by inspecting regularly the hardware and installations. If required, arrange promptly repairs or replacement as necessary according to established procedures ü Support Targeting and Digital Registration of beneficiaries ü Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks ü Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests ü Providing technical support across the organization (this may be in person or over the phone) ü Setting up accounts for new employees Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary ü troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults replace parts as required ü set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues ü rapidly establish a good working relationship with employees of the organization ü Monitor the operation and security of all computer hardware and ensure that it is operating properly ü Serve as a primary contact for all servicing of computers, printers, etc. ü Maintain a sufficient inventory of all office and computer supplies ü Scheduling preventive maintenance of ICT assets in respective assigned woreda ü Maintain all hardware and software logs updated as per RDV ICT procedures ü Maintain the documentation of all hardware configuration and inventory ü Ensure that all communications and marketing material aligns with brand standards ü Maintain digital media archives including photos and videos ü Install Food systems software ü Respond to media inquiries and perform media outreach to achieve brand placement in publications ü Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization’s activities, products and/or services. Maintaining physical security and good order in Data Centre and ICT working environments, ensuring all cabling is tidy and appropriately labelled and any equipment alerts or faults identified in the environment are evaluated and dealt with appropriately.
