JOB SUMMARY: The Driver I is responsible for driving assigned vehicles to transport EPHA personnel and goods. She/he takes care of the passengers, the property in her/his custody and ensures that the vehicle is insured and properly maintained. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Responsibility #1 Transporting persons and goods Drives assigned vehicles for transporting authorized personnel and materials;Logs official trips as per the EPHA’s rules, including daily mileage, fuel consumption;Ensures that the vehicle she/he is driving is insured;Ensures validity of her/his driving license;Picks up or meets persons according to appointment request or schedule;Undertakes field trips in order to transport staff and visitors. Responsibility #2 Maintenance of vehicles Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the car, checks oil, water, brakes, tires;Takes responsibility for the safety of the vehicle assigned, tools and accessories;Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and usable at all times;Follows up maintenance need of the vehicle and promptly reports back to immediate supervisor;Makes sure that she/he drives with in the speed limits set by EPHA and according to traffic regulations;Makes sure to wear seat belt and always asks and makes sure that her/his passengers wear seat belt;Ensures that vehicle is equipped with First Aid Kit & fire extinguishers and capable to provide first aid services; Responsibility #3: Others Reports accidents timely to her/his supervisor and nearby police stations for early communication to insurance companies.Collects and delivers postages and documents from/to post office and various offices regularly;Follows up and settles electricity, water, telephone bills timely;Provides assistance to those who organize conferences and workshops as required;Performs other duties as may be assigned.Department: Finance & Administration Reports to: Procurement & LogisticsRequired: One Duty Station: Addis Ababa & occasional field service Duration of Employment: One year with the possibility of extension based on performance assessment
