Pastoralist Concern
Pastoralist Concern, in collaboration with Medicus Mundi Gipuzkoa and the University of Jijiga, is searching for a consultancy firm to carry out a reserch study on culture identity, intersectionality and gender. This study is part of a Project funded by the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID) which is focused on women empowerment through 3 main pillars: increasing the participation of women and girls in the public sphere, reducing GBV and building capacities and generating knowledge for civil society organizations and public authorities. The objectives of this research are: To analyze the social culture of Somali Region and how its cultural structures affect women and girls;To analyze the ideological culture of Somali Region and how its values and believes affect women and girls;To identify cultural aspects that could be used as transformative tools for gender empowerment;To analyze the relationship between culture in the area and type of violences against women and girls;To identify the aspects that build the identity of women and girls in Somali culture;To analyze the aspects that build masculinity in Somali culture;To analyze the bottlenecks within the culture to transform gender roles;To analyze the relatioship between culture, access and power of women and girls on natural resources, mainly on water;To analyze the role of Somali women and girls within their own culture: in the production, participation and transmission of it.to analyze the relationship between culture and religion and how it affects to women and girls
