For more information, visit website: https://www.icrc.org/ The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Delegation in Ethiopia is looking to hire an experienced, highly motivated and qualified person to fill the position of Cash & Market Specialist 2 (1 year fixed term contract), based in Addis Ababa.PURPOSE Responsible for all the matters related to design, plan, implement, and monitor EcoSec cash transfer and market analysis program in line with country strategy, under the supervision and guidance of Cash and market file holder for Ethiopia. GENERAL DUTIESUnderstands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent MovementUnderstands and adheres to the ICRC Code of ConductUnderstands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent MovementRespects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all timesRepresents the ICRC in a professional manner at all timesDevelops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managersPerforms all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRCMay be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessaryACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Working under the supervision of cash and market focal person for Ethiopia, has most of the following responsibilities.Collects CVA related data using data collection tools and deviceAssists database officer to manage Red Rose and device magic platforms and EcoSec master database Performs mid-level qualitative and quantitative data analysisDescribes results and produces data visualization Analyses data collection using household Economy approach to identify Economic Security gaps and develop scenarios Support market price monitoring system for Ethiopia and lead a market assessment and to analysing and interpreting data in order to select and design response options (Feasibility, methods, and delivery of cash transfer programming, transfer value, vulnerability and targeting)Lead to design and implement CVA activities in Ethiopia including. - Service provider selection in the field - Guide EcoSec generalist FO and national society staff/volunteers - Distribution mechanism - CVA Preparedness - Prot/health/EcoSec integrated cash assistance for WW and PCP cases Carry out CVA monitoring activities together with EcoSec staff in Sub Delegation (SD)Integrates best practices in term of accountability to the beneficiaries throughout the program cycle designContributes to analysing the security, socioeconomic, cultural and political environment as it relates to the ICRCMaintains and contributes to the Master database for all beneficiaries of CVA in EthiopiaEnsures that appropriate specification for required cash inputs/services is available related to cash projects, Ensures necessary administrative work is implemented on timeKnows, applies and complies with all the administrative procedures linked to his workMaintains regular contacts with the relevant authorities and other interlocutors (NGO's, associations, etc.) and exchanges information as required.ADDITIONAL DUTIESSupport to the departmentProvides general support and advice on data collection and database management for the Department & Delegation as a wholeParticipates actively in meetings linked to the implementation of cash component of the program.Updates his/her superior about assessment findings and planned or ongoing cash projects/programs of the relevant authorities and other humanitarian actors in EthiopiaActs as reference point during supervisor's absences,Presents synthesis of problems arising succinctly and accurately.
