    The Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli - International Committee for the Development of Peoples (CISP) is a non-governmental international organization established in 1983 in Italy. CISP has been operating in Ethiopia since 1986 and since then has always been alongside local institutions and communities to face humanitarian emergencies and lay the foundations for the consolidation of long-term development processes.In the last 35 years in Ethiopia CISP has been implementing more than 200 multi-sectoral and multi-regional projects, mainly in the sectors of food security and rural development, Livelihood, WASH, Education, Health, Migration, Protection, CMDRR, and Emergency and Rehabilitation in Oromia, Tigray, Benishangul Gumuz, Somali, Afar regions and Addis Ababa City Administration. In all projects, CISP set gender, children, and environment either mainstream or as cross-cutting issues. Currently, CISP in partnership with CUAMM and COOPI started a project to mitigate the effects of the ongoing drought, helping to save lives through the provision of essential services in  Filtu, Bokolmayo and Dolo Ado Woredas of Liben Zone and Dolobaye woreda of Afder Zone of Somali Region.The Project Coordinator will perform the following duties in coordination and under supervision of the Program Manager:Responsibility # 1: Project Implementation.  % of Time:  35%Responsible to overall management and implementation of the project implementing by CISP in Filtu and Boqolmayo Woredas of Liben  Zone, Somali National Regional State,Manages and coordinates the implementation process of all sets of targets planned for the project with respective supervisors, experts and other concerned staff working within program departments.Develops Detailed program implementation plans in consultation with the Program Manager, MEAL Expert, project staff and partners.Ensure activities are implemented according to physical plan and budget, donor requirements and acceptable quality standards in ways that are responsive to communities’ needs.Regularly visits field activities and provide formal and informal feedback to the project staff in terms of adequate and inadequate progress as well as recommendations for improved performance;Builds the capacity of project staff and its partners in technical issues pertinent to the sector including WASH, Agriculture and Food Security;Coordinate with the consortium staff (COOPI and CUAMM) and make sure the project implementation is going on as per the plan,Maintains ongoing communication with project stakeholder regarding project progress and challenges;Continuously assesses project’s context, assumptions and changes in the working environment to ensure that the project focus, strategies and activities remain relevant past experiences to systematize and incorporate lessons learned into the planning process;Based on past accomplishments and achievements adjusts project targets, strategies, resources and delegation of responsibilities to ensure appropriate progress toward project objectives;Shares draft plans with CISP head office management team, staff and partners involved in the implementation and incorporate their input into the plan;Submits annual plans as per established schedules to all project stakeholders.Responsibility #3: Staff Management. % of Time:  10%Supervises, leads, guides, orients, trains, coaches and supports the project team, Builds the technical capacity of the subordinate staff in planning and implementing projects effectively and efficiently;Ensure that all project staff have appropriate individual operational plans linked to project priorities;Completes all performance management activities including: performance planning, monitoring, and annual performance appraisals;Provides ongoing feedback to project officers and specialists, recognizing and praising successes and pointing out failures that need corrective measures.Responsibility No. 4: Project Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting. % of Time:  15%Ensures that project under his/her supervision include an appropriate log-frame and baseline design;In consultation with MEAL personnel organizes a monitoring system to collect routine data for tracking project performance and decision making;Plans and conducts quarterly and annual project review meeting to assess progress, adjust plans, and draw/disseminate lessons learned.Write monthly/quarterly/annual comprehensive and high-quality project progress reports for the donor and the government;Monitor the activity implementation of the     Background The Network of Ethiopian Women’s Associations (NEWA) is a pioneer, non-partisan, not-for-profit national coalition of women’s associations and organizations that has been working to realize gender equality and women empowerment in Ethiopia for the last couple of decades. As per the five years strategic plan (2020-20024), NEWA, among others, is engaged in generating gender data, in order to promote evidence-based advocacy for a better policy response. Currently, in collaboration with OXFAM GB, NEWA is implementing a research project that seeks to understand the situation of Ethiopian women in several dimensions. Currently, NEWA is implementing an action research project titled: “Determining Ethiopian Women’s Status and Priorities: An Action Research Project” with financial support from the EUD-EU- External Action Services, jointly implemented with OXFAM GB. The overall objective of the research project is to contribute to the improvement of equality and women’s empowerment through evidence generation. The specific objectives of the action are to a) generate evidence for effective response and broader gender equality concerns during and after the crisis in Ethiopia, and b) Promote the research and advocacy capacity of women’s associations and structures. Further, the expected outcomes of the project are 1) Research (national survey and qualitative research) on the current status, priorities, needs, and asks of Ethiopian women conducted, and a report produced and 2) Research and advocacy capacity of women associations and structures enhanced. Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, NEWA is therefore seeking to recruit a full-time dedicated project officer to support the implementation of the project and its components in seven regional states.
