HISTORY OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING
The first computer engineering degree program in the United States was established at Case Western Reserve University in 1972. As of October 2004, there were 170 ABET-accredited computer engineering programs in the US. In Europe, accreditation of computer engineering schools is done by a variety of agencies part of the EQANIE network. Due to increasing job requirements for engineers, who can concurrently design hardware, software, firmware, and manage all forms of computer systems used in industry, some tertiary institutions around the world offer a bachelor's degree generally called computer engineering. Both computer engineering and electronic engineering programs include analog and digital circuit design in their curriculum. As with most engineering disciplines, having a sound knowledge of mathematics and science is necessary for computer engineers.
HOW I SEE COMPUTER ENGINEERING
I see computer engineering as a job that makes and allows jobs to happen. Without computer engineers, the world would be a stand-still. Computer engineers make and fix computers that run programs that keep everything on and in order. Without this, everything would be chaos, nothing would run smooth, and everything would go wild. So I believe this is one of the most important jobs of today and the bright of future.
Have a BSc in COMPUTER ENGINEERING because Computer engineering can be seen in our day to day lives and has a fast impact on or lifestyles and jobs. Some of the equipment that are in computer engineering are mobile phones, digital video cameras and audio players, microwave ovens, aircraft, security alarm systems, laser equipment and automobiles.
Most people today rely on computer engineering to help enhance their lives. Business establishments are constantly perfecting their products and services using computer engineering to deliver and meet the demands for their needs. They have very high budgets for research and design, especially those in the electronic and engineering spots.
Computer engineers are expected to take their computer engineering skills to new heights in the next generations, so that computer scientists, engineers and researchers can predict and determine if there really is what is on the future using the data we had till now.
