Addis Ababa, July 5, 2018 (FBC) – About 15 people were killed when an electric cable snapped and fell on a ground at a village called Korke, east Hararge zone of the Oromia regional state.
Zonal police public relations head, Commander Seyoum Degefa, told FBC today that nine of them died instantly.
The remaining 6 individuals died after reaching hospital, he noted.
Those who have been injured in the accident were receiving the necessary medical treatment at the Dire Dawa Dil Chora and Haremaya hospitals, he said.
Police is investigating the cause of the accident, he added.
