Addis Ababa University (AAU), which was established in 1950 with an initial name University College of Addis Ababa (UCAA), is the oldest and the largest higher learning institution in Ethiopia.

General Information
Beginning with an enrolling capacity of 33 students in 1950, AAU has now more than 53, 000 and over 8000 staff (2833 academic and 5,385 support staffs). In its 13 campuses, the University runs 79 undergraduate and 295 graduate programs (77 PhD, 177 masters, 18 specialty and 21 sub-specialty certificates as well as two fellowships.)
