YEP Business Idea Competition
As part of its upcoming Annual Summer Gala, YEP is holding a Business Idea Competition with a theme of "Addressing Community Issues". We look forward to receiving applications from professionals and entrepreneurs who are passionate about addressing community problems. Small start-up companies that are at an initial stage are also eligible to apply.
SCREENING PROCESS
Primary screening (Application Document Review)
The business idea and other information in the application such as, the extent to which it addresses community problems, business potential, impact and feasibility will be evaluated by a committee selected by YEP.
Final Screening (Presentations)
Top 10 candidates selected during the Primary Screening will be invited to make presentations to YEP's Evaluation Committee. Presentations will be evaluated based on various metrics, including the passion demonstrated by participants for pursuing their business plan.
Final Presentations
Top 3 candidates selected from the Secondary Screening will give presentations at YEP’s Annual Summer Gala in front of more than 300 people. The Gala is scheduled to be held on June 10, 2017

May 20: Notification of the results from the Primary Screening.
May 30: Final Screening (Presentations)
June 5: Notification of the results from the Final Screening
Benefits for Competing participants
- Winners will be rewarded with a YEP Certificate.
- Mentoring by entrepreneurs with knowledge and expertise
- Increased visibility. Winners will present their business idea in front of media and more than 300 attendees.
