Empowerment of people living in poverty and women leadership with the support of their allies is crucial to drive change that will ensure equality and poverty eradication.ActionAid Ethiopia is currently looking for a vibrant, energetic, ambitious, knowledgeable, experienced, highly capable and motivated professional and leader for its fundraising department.Post one: Head of FundraisingReports to: Country DirectorDuty base: Addis Ababa, with frequent in country travelJob Summary: The Head of Fundraising is a member of a Senior Management Team He /She Provides strategic readership to AAE’s Fund Raising though institutional fundraising and child sponsorship programs through a coordinated effort and effective, strategic and operational management of funding relationships and systems and ensure a funding mix that is stable, diversified, pro-poor and flexible to meet the resource needs of the Country Program.Key responsibilities
Provides strategic leadership and advice to AAE’s institutional fundraising and child sponsorship programs to meet the resource needs of the Country Program:
Ensure the fund-raising strategy is up to date and rolled out and programme led funding s realized.
Builds a body of knowledge/donor scoping/through the analysis of local & international donor trends to feed into AAE’s fundraising strategies and use in the resource generation of the Country Program;
Build and maintain relationships with various donors in country as well as internationally
Facilitates and lead Planning of funding requirements (Funding Planning, Concept Notes & Proposals preparation, etc.), integration of sponsorship and non-sponsorship funding of AAE
Coordinates inception phase activities of new donor projects together with other related departments.
Ensure effective implementation of various AAI/ AAE’s sponsorship
and fundraising policies within the organization & its partners;
Ensures effective Child Sponsorship Communications and community voices to funding affiliates and supporters;
Ensures efficient, effective and fair allocation of resources within and across the country program in collaboration with SMT
Liaise with local and international donors for possible funding;
Lead consortium based fundraising in country by profiling the organizations strategy and program priorities
Required CompetenciesThe successful candidate must possess a minimum of MA/MSC Degree in Development Studies, Economics or other related disciplines. And a minimum of Ten years’ experience with at least 3 years at senior leadership level strategic programming and partnership development and processes; solid knowledge of the country’s national frameworks and strategies; Understanding of the funding environment, and sponsorship & fundraising processes: Proven track—record in preparing fundable Concept note proposal development and submission; Conversant and good track record of winning proposals on Women Development Issues, Sustainable agriculture and Humanitarian works; Knowledge and experience on donor scoping and developing of organizational programme approach and strategies, fundraising strategy, proven ability to lead multiple technical teams; strong interpersonal, team work and proven people management skills: excellent analytical and conceptual thinking; solid understanding
