    The core of the project is to develop laboratory, epidemiological and clinical surveillance for detection of infectious diseases in children who have died (through minimally invasive tissue sampling) and those with life-threatening illnesses. The Maternal Infection Study, an aligned researchproject, isinvestigating the contribution ofinfectionto stillbirth and early neonatal death.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    Indirectly Reports To: CRS Head of Programs Background:CRS Ethiopia is seeking aConsortium Lead, Commodity Management for theEmergency Nutrition and WASH Rapid Response Capacity project, a newthree-year USAID project with funding fromOffice of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) as well as the Office for Food for Peace (FFP).
    The Emergency Nutrition and WASH Rapid Response Capacity (RRC) program supports targeted, integrated emergency nutrition and WASH activities through a well-coordinated and flexible rapid response mechanism (RRM) that can be triggered to respond to emergencies anywhere in the country. CRS is supporting the project through technical leadership on management, operations, and logistics surrounding the provision of emergency nutrition commodities.
    Job Summary:The Consortium Lead, Commodity Management will serve as CRS’ technical and managerial lead on the RRC program. The incumbent will establish and maintain positive and complementary working relationships with lead implementing agency, the International Rescue Committee, as well as nutrition lead partner Concern Worldwide.
    The Consortium Lead, Commodity Managementwill provide guidance to IRC on the management of the Title II Commodity ‘Call Forward’ process while also facilitating the use of in-country pipelines for procuring emergency nutrition commodities.
    The incumbent will be ELRP’s technical lead liaison with GoE food security governing bodies and working groups, and be well versed in national food security policies and procedures.
    Typical Background, Experience & Requirements: Education and Experience■ An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a relevant field including logistics, management, or international development. An advanced degree can be substituted with an additional 3 years of relevant experience;■ Minimum 5-8 years demonstrated experience with USG or other similar development projects focused on commodity management (preferably with experience related to engaging populations vulnerable to malnutrition and increasing household uptake of nutrition services;■ Experience with project implementation oversight and budgetmanagement;■ Demonstrated ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, including national and local government, donors, community-based organizations, and the private sector;■ Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Englishand Amharic;■ Established relationship with and/or substantive knowledge of internationally recognized best practices in emergency commodity management;■ Experience with USAID project implementation; familiarity withrules and regulations;■ Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.Agency-wide Competencies for all CRS positions:These are rooted in the mission, values, and principles of CRS and used by each staff member to fulfill his or her responsibilities and to achieve the desired results.*Serves with Integrity *Models Stewardship *Cultivates Constructive Relationships *Promotes Learning
