Addis Ababa, June 25, 2018 (FBC) –Muferihat Kamil has been elected as chairperson of the Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement (SEPDM), replacing Shiferaw Shigute.

She was elected today at the emergency meeting of the Central Committee of SEPDM.
Muferihat is the current Speaker of the Ethiopian Parliament.

Addis Ababa, June 25, 2018 (FBC) -Shiferaw Shigute has resigned as chairman of the Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement (SEPDM).

In a press conference he issued today, the Central Committee of SEPDM has accepted his letter of resignation.
Consequently, he will also resign as Executive Committee of SEPDM.
However, he will remain as member of the Central Committee of the Movement.
