JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent will be responsible for extending technical support to establish a Safe and Secured journey management at EMA. The incumbent will also help to enhance the defense driving culture and safety standard protocols of the Association with regard to driving and properly handling of vehicles, product handling procedures, distributing invitation letter for participants and facilitate procurement activities in collaboration with EMA Purchase committee.Major Duties & RESPONSIBILITIES:Drives and maintains the vehicle in a professional, conscious and safe manner obeying the local road traffic laws.Ensures that at all times the vehicle is equipped with the correct tools and spare parts (functioning jack, a spade, an approved tool kit, a spare wheel with a properly inflated tire and an approved first aid kit).Makes physical checks on the vehicle daily and ensures that the level of engine oil, radiator, and windscreen washing water are adequate before driving.On weekly basis, checks the level of brake and clutch oil, battery water and the pressure of tires is at the proper levels, and also ensures that all lights and indicators are working properlyKeeps all tools and reserve tyre with due care. Handles the vehicle and other related accessories and materials with due care.Ensures that the vehicle is kept clean both inside and outside at all times and that the organization stickers are visible.Ensures that no unauthorized personnel, no military personnel, no harmful weapon including gun, stick, knife, spear, any explosive materials such as drugs are on board.Distributes different letters, packages to and from office and to required destinations.Leaves office premises with authorized paper and passengers’ list and clearance for goods with clearly stated reason.Maintains a logbook of vehicle movement, its mileage, servicing, petrol consumption and general vehicle condition.Parks the vehicle in a safe area when on field visit and avoid parking near to market places, fuel stations, bars or any ill reputed places.Park the vehicle in the garage available at the office premises, and not any other placeAssists the office in coordinating field visits and during vehicle management. Collects pro-forma, prepares purchase orders, handles all procurement activities with EMA purchase committee as assigned by Admin. & Finance Manager.Reports accidents or other incidents involving other vehicles or pedestrians, to the office manager and ensures that proper procedures for insurance claims are followed at the time and scene of any accident.Reports any vehicle damage or malfunction to the store/logistics responsible person as soon as possible.Perform other duties as required and assigned by immediate supervisor.Term of employment: One year contract with possibility of extension based on performance
